1. Choose your maze.
Daily: visit today’s challenge and start the daily puzzle. The maze opens behind a blurred start screen. Press Start maze to reveal it and start your timer. Returning to a running attempt keeps the original timer; it cannot be paused or reset.
Practice: choose Square, Diamond, Rectangle, or Ring (a square with an empty center). The homepage starts a Medium puzzle; the practice page also lets you choose Easy or Hard. You can start another practice maze whenever you like.
2. Follow the passages.
Your position begins at S. Reach E by moving between neighboring cells through openings in the walls. Moves are horizontal or vertical; you cannot move diagonally or pass through a wall.
- Keyboard
- Click or focus the maze board, then use ↑ ← ↓ → or W A S D.
- Touch
- Swipe in the direction you want to move, or tap a cell immediately next to your position.
- On-screen buttons
- Use the four arrow buttons below the board. Each press attempts one step.
The trail shows where you have been. Going back along a passage is allowed and adds to your move count. Trying to move into a wall does not count as a move.
Choose Fullscreen for a centered maze with just your moves and elapsed time. Press Escape or choose Exit fullscreen to return to the page. You can also zoom your browser.
3. Pause or reveal the solution.
Pause is available in practice and informal replays. It covers the board and disables movement until you resume, keeping your place. Ranked daily attempts cannot be paused.
Reveal solution ends the attempt as abandoned and shows the route. It is not a completed solve and does not earn daily credit. Wander again starts a different practice puzzle with the same shape and difficulty.
One daily maze. One official attempt.
The daily challenge resets at 00:00 UTC, which may be a different time in your local time zone. The daily page shows the next reset. Finish before that deadline: your completion must be received by the server in time. The elapsed timer stops when your finish is confirmed, or when the daily closes.
Completed daily attempts build your streak. Practice, replays, abandoned attempts, and finishes received after the deadline do not count. If a daily challenge is withdrawn or affected by a recorded service incident, that day is neutral: it adds no completed day and does not break an existing streak.
If the deadline passes during an unfinished daily, you can continue it as a replay. That continuation is for practice and cannot change the official daily result.
Your place, saved as you go.
Accepted moves are saved to the server. Check the save message above the board before closing the page. Your browser also keeps pending moves locally while it waits for confirmation.
A lost connection can leave progress pending. Keep the page open and reconnect so those moves can be sent. Local pending moves alone do not secure daily credit, and an internet connection is needed to start and reliably save a game.
As a guest, use the same browser and keep its cookies to retain access to your progress. Clearing site data or using another browser can make guest progress inaccessible. Create an account in the browser where you have been playing to keep that guest progress with your account.
Use one tab for an attempt. If two tabs change the same game, the app asks you to resolve the conflict rather than silently replacing your pending moves. Choosing to use saved progress discards the pending moves on that device.
Find the exit. Enjoy the finish.
Once the server confirms your finish, the result shows your moves and elapsed time. “Extra steps” means your moves beyond the shortest possible route; it is not a time score.
Daily comparisons are shown only when at least 20 eligible players with verified accounts have recorded eligible ranked finishes. The comparison is an aggregate distribution, not a list of players or a public leaderboard.
